Our next meeting is set for Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Grape Expectations.
We will be measuring the effect that oak has in the wine making process. With help from Big Mike and The Chad at Grape Expectations, we will sample seven different wines, a neutral Cabernet Sauvignon, the same Cabernet with two different toasts of French oak, the same Cabernet with two different toasts of American oak and finally the same Cabernet with two different toasts of Hungarian Oak.
You do not need to bring wine glasses for this event, as we will pre-pour all of the wines for you to compare. Because the wine will be pre-poured it is important to PLEASE RSVP so we have an accurate count of attendees. You can RSVP on our Facebook page, or email email@example.com.
Tasting fee for members is $8 per person and $15 per couple. Non-member fee is $13 per person. CASH ONLY! Please bring an appetizer and wine to share with the group.
Also, if you are an amateur wine maker, you can enter the American Wine Society’s Amateur Wine Competition (AWC). If you plan on entering, please contact Chris Creasey at firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate deliver of the wine. All wines need to be in Chris’ hands by September 20th. Our chapter has been very successful in the past winning medals!!
